TAO University: The Management Essentials Program
TAO is excited to announce TAO University. We have been working hard all summer, asking our members questions and consulting with experts in training course design and delivery and leadership development. Our goal is to build a world-class center of learning designed to help the Tech industry in the Pacific Northwest have a source for professional development and a place for thought leadership to help people and companies grow and be successful. TAO has a unique opportunity to offer a curriculum for the tech industry. We are developing cohorts for peers from various companies to learn from each other, as well as custom curricula for individual company teams to learn and grow. TAO University will be a trusted source for professional development to support technology employees, from rising managers to C-suite leaders, to develop their skills and be better equipped to support the tech economy.
Course Description: The Management Essentials 1 Program Member $1995.00 Non-member $2495.00Designed for seasoned and new managers, this program allows leaders to explore and build the vital management skills necessary to meet the increasingly challenging demands of a manager's role in today’s environment. The Management Essentials Program combines expert instruction, real-world examples, engaging group exercises, individual assignments, and group coaching to rapidly build a leader’s competence and boost confidence in one’s ability to lead.
The program focuses on the day-to-day skills necessary for managers to excel in Hiring, Communicating, Developing, Delegating, Driving Accountability, Coaching, and feedback. In the program, participants will learn how to:
- Discover, define, and enhance your inner leader
- Get results through your direct reports and peers
- Effectively hire, onboard, and retain talent in today’s environment
- Coach and develop employees for maximum performance
The Management Essentials 1 Program consists of the following 90-minute highly interactive virtual workshops run every other week on a Monday or Tuesday:

- Getting Work Done Through Others
- Hiring & Onboarding Talent
- Driving Performance Through Feedback & Coaching
