Describe the company you work for and its product/mission. We serve 30,000 members of our community annually. Through reuse and recycling, digital literacy, hardware grants and our digital inclusion initiatives we get to realize our mission: to sustainably reuse technology, enable digital access, and provide education to create a community that empowers people to realize their potential.
Why is your company a member of TAO? We have access to resources, education, and partnerships that support our mission. We get to contribute to the tech community's ecosystem.
What do you, personally, like best about being a TAO member? We educate our tech peers about our service to the community. Tech inequality impacts Black people, people of color, families and individuals living in poverty and folks of the aging population caused by the digital divide. Free Geek needs support from the tech community to bridge this gap. Membership at TAO gives hope for strong relationships that support this work.
What’s your favorite thing about our region’s tech ecosystem? We have a place in the region's tech ecosystem. We play a key role in sustainability, affordability, opportunity and access to tech.
What is your hope for the future of tech in Oregon & SW Washington? Free Geek gets a seat at the table in the tech community to advocate our efforts in Including Everyone In Our Digital Future.
