In what year was your company founded? 2011
Describe the company you work for and its product/mission. SheerID is an Identity Marketing Platform that allows brands to create red-carpet shopping experiences with gated, personalized offers to reward eligible students, health workers, the military, and other influential consumer tribes.
Why is your company a member of TAO? As a company founded and headquartered in Oregon, we want to see our tech community flourish in Oregon and beyond. TAO has been a key partner for SheerID to support our mission to build trust in a digital world, enable us to innovate faster, provide employee training, expand our talent pool and help us meet our goals to have a workplace that is diverse & inclusive.
What do you, personally, like best about being a TAO member? The events! I love learning from others and exchanging ideas for making software teams and individuals more effective.
What’s your favorite thing about our region’s tech ecosystem? The support our region provides. As a growing community, we value the expertise and experience we can tap into from tech leaders past and present. To that end, our region has a special knack for balancing the tech mindset and local culture in our businesses, educational systems, and communities in a way that puts people first. (oh, and the fishing!)
What is your hope for the future of tech in Oregon & SW Washington? My hope is that our region rises to meet the global tech-talent training and diversity challenge. We can continue to cultivate our diverse talent and invest in K-12 digital literacy for underserved populations. Our dedication to the long-game and our spirit of compassion and goodwill will create a healthy and unprecedented workforce composition, setting us apart as a new kind of global tech hub.
