With GDPR now in effect and a slew of high-profile Congressional investigations and data breaches, data-driven business models of tech companies are generating greater scrutiny by the public and regulatory oversight by governments. State legislatures are also stepping into the fray, Oregon among them. There have been several attempts at data privacy-related bills in Oregon in recent years, and data privacy will be front and center during the 2019 Oregon legislative session.
This dinner discussion will be an opportunity for local tech leaders to hear from Oregon's Attorney General about what data privacy priorities her office has in this climate and what kind of legislation/policy we are likely to see in Salem in 2019. Importantly, this dinner will also be an opportunity for the AG to learn more about the ways in which local tech companies are approaching data privacy and recommendations tech leaders might have with respect to any policy/regs that might be heading our way in 2019.
TAO Leadership Exchanges provide unique opportunities for peer-to-peer discussions, solution sharing and idea generation. This event is only for CEOs, CIOs and GCs at TAO member tech companies. If you are interested in TAO membership or have questions on eligibility, please contact Theresa at firstname.lastname@example.org. The location for this event will be downtown Portland and be shared with confirmed attendees.
