PDX Talent Match connects tech companies & job seekers

With over 17,000 tech job listings posted statewide in 2017, Oregon employers are continually trying to fill technical occupations and often have difficulties discovering candidates with the appropriate skill sets that businesses need.

As part of the Technology Association of Oregon’s week-long statewide Tech Tours in September, TAO is inviting job seekers and tech companies to participate in PDX Talent Match, an exclusive hiring fair designed to initiate personal introductions between local talent and technology companies who are actively hiring in the Portland-Metro area.

Interested technology companies can register to participate in PDX Talent Match - which will occur from 4-7pm on Wednesday, Sept. 19th - and submit three to five open positions for which they are trying to recruit candidates, which will be updated daily on the PDX Talent Match event page.

Job seekers will submit their information through the Talent Match: Job Seeker Resume Portal where TAO staff will forward job seeker submissions, based on relevant job openings, to participating companies for their review.  Should a job seeker be chosen by a participating company, TAO will forward along an invitation to attend the PDX Talent Match networking event.

Participating technology companies will be allocated two tickets for company staff and five invitations to forward to potential candidates from the pool of resumes.

Apex Clearing, Cambia and Simple will be among the companies on-hand for TAO’s Talent Match as these organizations look to fill positions in DevOps, QA, UI, in addition to other software engineering roles.

Data collected from Worksource Oregon Employment Department shows that selected technical occupations receive average annual wages just south of $90,000, indicating that demand continues to increase for technically-skilled labor, especially among software, application and web developers.

2018 marks the first year Technology Association of Oregon has ever hosted a “Talent Match” event in Portland.  As a not-for-profit industry association, TAO supports entrepreneurs, connecting peers and decision makers and helping establish the Northwest as a global hub for innovation.
